Why Pilot Oscar?

Hello! I'm Oscar, an airline pilot fueled by adventure and a passion for chasing the Aurora. My time above the clouds offers a unique perspective, one I love to capture through my lens. Outside the cockpit, I'm often exploring the great outdoors, seeking new adventures and the elusive Northern Lights.

My photography has garnered recognition from esteemed publications and organizations.

• Canadian Geographic Photo of the Year 2024 Honourable Mention and publication in the March/April 2025 Issue and Website.
• Had the honour of my work gracing the cover of the February 2024 Canadian Hog Journal magazine.
• Invited by Canadian Geographic to submit some of my photos for a chance to be featured in their 2024 calendar. 
• Thrilled to be a finalist in the 2023 Canadian Geographic Photo of the Year contest.
• Featured by SpectacularNWT (Tourism Northwest Territories), and other prominent Canadian Instagram accounts. 
• NightSight photo of the Northern Lights shot on a Google Pixel phone featured on the Pixel 6 product page of the Google store.
• Awarded first place photographer in Fort Smith's 2022 Annual Slave River Paddlefest.  The recognition is given to the photographer who evokes the most emotion and essence of the event, along with demonstrating technical skill, composition, and visual appeal.
